The Dorrell Young Christmas Program aims to bring joy to families across Bruce County during the holiday season and Bruce County's Human Services department is thrilled to share the success of the 29th annual event.

"Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, businesses and community groups, 530 children, teens, and their families experienced the warmth and kindness of the holidays this year," said Director of Human Services Tina Metcalfe.

In a January 20 media release from Bruce County, the Dorrell Young Christmas Program relies on donations of unwrapped gifts and financial contributions and last year raised $36,902 in cash donations and brought in hundreds of gifts.

"We are grateful to everyone who contributed," read the release. "This year’s program was supported by more than 133 unique sponsors, donors, and organizations across our community."
